Arthur Scott Sisley b. 14 Dec 1848 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny, Pennsylvania. The son of Samuel Arthur Sisley, and Hannah Scott. He's listed 1850 census in Sandy Creek, Mercer, Pennsylvania with his parents. Don't know if his parents got divorce or his mother died bef 1859. Got her death listed 1867. They listed 1860 census in Gage, Nebraska Territory, but Arthur was living with the Gary Family. I guess his father push him off to another family, or he was a servant to the Gary family. Arthur set off for the big world as a teenager, and end up in Allen County, Indiana. Don't know if he kept intouch with his half brother William when he went away. He joined Civil War at the age of 16 years old. He fought in the Civil War for the Union in the 142 Indiana Infantry Company C. He entered the war with the rank of Private, and left with the rank of Private. He fought the Battle of Nashville on 15 Dec 1864 led by Major General, George Henry Thomas.
After the war he went to Missouri, and married to his uncle's sister-in-law Frances A. Swan on 10 Dec 1870 in Canton, Lewis, Missouri. The daughter of Abner Swan, and Mary Ann Daniels. They are listed 1880 census in Mendon, Adams, Illinois. They had 7 children, but 3 was living in 1900. Arthur was a Carpenter, and a officer of the guard under Col. Morton Post Organized in Quincy, Adams, Illinois. And I'm pretty sure he was a caring father for his children. His 14 years old daughter Minnie either took off or got kidnapped by a young married man named Amos Farris on 8 May 1894 in Quincy. Arthur put a charge on Amos Farris for abduction his minor daughter Minnie. He went on a steamer trian to get Minnie in Dallas, Hancock, Illinois. Arthur was living Jackson, Lee, Iowa in 1900 with wife Frances, and son Arthur. Frances A. Swan died on 2 May 1916 in Lee, Iowa. Arthur is listed 1916 Disabled Volunteer Soldiers in Danville, Vermilion, Illinois. He lived 1920 in Keokuk, Lee, Iowa with his son. He also was a member of Belknap post, No. 515, G. A. R., of Keokuk, Lee, Iowa.
His 2nd marriage came out in the middle of no where. Did not know about it. He got married to a Amanda Alma "Myers" Brice on 1920 in Adams, Illinois. The marriage did not last very long, because she died in the same year. She is buried with her husband John H. Brice in Oakland Cemetery, Keokuk, Lee, Iowa. Then Arthur Scott Sisley died on 23 Oct 1921 in Quincy, Adams, Illinois, and buried in Keokuk National Cemetery, Keokuk, Lee, Iowa with his wife Frances.
Arthur, and Frances oldest daughter Rosettia Sisley got married to a Charles T. Slater on 24 Apr 1889 in Adams, Illinois, but a year after the marriage she died at childbirth along with her baby son. Lillian Mae Sisley got married to a Alexander B. "Ted" Webb in 1896, and had 2 son's. She poss. died aft 1940 in Quincy. Minnie Belle Sisley married to a August Henry Arend on 11 May 1897 in Keokuk, Lee, Iowa, and had 5 children. She died in her early 30's bef 1912. Arthur LeRay Sisley married to a Vera Alma Bunch on 6 May 1914 in Lee, Iowa, and had 3 children. He moved to Chaves, New Mexico bef 1930..
