My Rangel's From Mexico

Can't find much on my line because Mexico dont't have record's of thier people. Still have family over there. They probably died off, because of the Swine Flu.

Ancestry.com has a Border Crossings
http://content.ancestry.com/iexec/?htx=List&dbid=1082&offerid=0%3a7858%3a0

My grant grandparents was Victor Rangel (1903-1998) & Amalia L. Leyva (1902-1999. They both was born in Mexico. Victor died at the age 95. Amalia died at the age 97. Victor was the son of Pedro & Paula/Paulita Rangel. They came in USA (Texas) between 1900-1920. They had 13 children. They also had a daughter name Francis Rangel that came with them. My grandpa was young when they moved to Rosebud County, Montana.

I found a Pedro E. Rangel in Montana Death Index - Carbon, Montana. This Pedro was buried in the same Cemetery as my other grant grandparents are buried at. He died of a cerebral vascular hemorrhage & he was the son of Pedro & Juaquirina (Moras). Joaquina. He died at the age of 95. He had a son name Pedro Ibarra Rangel. Pedro 3nd was born 1917 Sabine, Texas & died 1987. He was in Littlefield, Lamb, Texas. I guess he died on Railroad Board. I also found a Paula Rangel on Social Security Index. She died the age of 108 & she also died the same county as Victor died at.

This Pedro & Paula I found was married & had a son name Pedro.

I also found a Frieda Rangel in Montana Death Index - Rosebud, Montana
Frieda RANGEL
Birth Date: 15 Aug 1922
Death Date: Aug 1989
Social Security Number: 517-46-8323
State or Territory Where Number Was Issued: Montana

I have no clue who this Frieda is.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Here's a story of Pedro Rangel

My grandpa said that Pedro has one leg & hes leg got cut off by a train. He told me a funny story about him. Something about a wagon some how unhooked from the horse and he went running after it and they never knew how grandpa could run so fast with one leg. Also that when they were younger their grandma would make turnovers. At this time they traveled a lot because of the times of harvest. At this time it was April 1st and they were harvesting cotton. Well instead of a fruit filling they put cotton inside the turnovers and their grandpa was mad.

Now I see William who came from Ireland oldest son might be Vincent. They tried to move a family & the Indian's killed them but the son. He escaped & got shot at. He went to Kentucky then to Brown, Ohio. I dont think he went to Indiana.

I found that Vincent went to Ohio in 1801 Age 15 from Kentucky. Vincent was in 1840 in Pike, Brown, Ohio. Theres was James. Both of them are on the same page. Vincent is listed 1830.

Some How Mixed Up "Penrod"

They got my grand dad George Penrod with the wrong parents. So, I had to re do the family. Hes still in the Penrod family. He just in the wrong line. I found another George Penrod that born the same time as my George. This George is the right one that belong to the parents they had my George mixed up with. I dont know how they got them mixed up because my George was born in Iowa & the other George was born in Pennsylvania.

They also had George with a wrong wife Mary Francis Epperson. His wife was Francis A. Epperson. How I know this is I looked up thier death certificate in Missouri & I notice they are in the wrong line of the families. So, I fixed that problem.

George & Francis only had 2 children Steve Emmet Penrod (1878-1955) & Permelia Ann Penrod (1884-1925) but I found out they had 2 more children which is John & Jesse. They was listed in 1900: Madison, Lee, Iowa. They had 6 kids & 4 living.

George was the son of Reason & Sarah (Emmet) Penrod.
Francis was the daughter of Samuel & Mary Catherine (Divers) Epperson

Rangel - White - Hess

Rangel - San Luis Potisi Mexico, Texas, Montana, California, South Dakota

White & Hess Family Minnesota, Montana, California, Washington
Dont know much about this family. I think the White's family came from Canada French. The Hess family came from Prussia (Germany)

Germany name Wintjen

My grandmas mom is Laura Amanda Wintjen. That last name is from Germany. Andreas & Peter Wintjen come over on a Ship Mammoth back in 12-23-1853. They went to St.Louis, Missouri. Then they settled down in Calhoun Countty, Illinois every since. So, Andreas Wintjen is my gggg grandpa. Andreas & Peter Wintjen is from Bremervorde, Providence of Hanover,Germany. Andreas Wintjen & Elizabeth Schlichting (Ilsabe) got married in St.Louis, Missouri back in July 30, 1856 & had thier first child in St Louis 1851. They had 10 kids.Elizabeth Schlichting (ILSABE) is from Hanover,Germany. Ilsabe is her moms first name. Elizabeth dads & moms name is Hein Hinrich (Henry) Schlichting & Ilsabe Heinsohn. Hein is from Neuendamm, Hanover, Germany. Ilsabe is from Mehedorf, Hanover, Germany. Hein & Ilsabe 4 kids Elizabeth history take me back in the late 1700s.Andreas dad Johann[John] Hinrich Wintjen is from Bremenvorde, Hanover, Germany. Andreas mom Helena Margaretha Elizabeth Gerdts is from Bremenvorde, Hanover, Germany. Johann & Helena had 6 kids.

George Kniffen from England is now Niffen

Here's the Sniffen & Kniffen story
http://www.geocities.com/sniffen42/KniffenSniffenStory.htm

That last name gose a long ways like in 1600s. Kniffen came from Kniveton, Derbyshire, England. I think when George Knitfon comes to Rye Westchester County, New York, USA it change to Kniffen. In 1900s they drop the 'K'. So, It is Niffen. So, The name got change a couple of times.

George Knitfon & Mary Whelpley got married in England back in 1644. So, They probably came to USA between 1640s - 1670s. They had 7 children. It dont showed much on George Knitfon past. Mary Whelpley dad & mom is Henry Whelpley & ??? Sarah. They had 2 kids or 3 more kids.

My line Jonathan Kniffen Sr. line moved to Pennsylvania & Ohio. My ancester James Eliphalet Kniffen who married to Elizabeth Moss in Schuyler, Ill moved to much. They went Quincy, Illinois 1840s & Hunt, Texas & Fulton County, Illinois 1870s & Franklin County, Arkansas. I learned there's was alot of "Benjamin Kniffen" in the past.

---------------------------
Its like a puzzle with the Henry Whelpley family. Henry is from England.
The only ones I have in my family tree as Henry Whelpley kids is Mary who married to George Knitfon/Kniffen.Nathan who died at sea.

Thier are some kids like Sarah, Jonathan and Rebecca Whelpley. Jonathan Whelpley is a half brother to Mary Whelpley.

My Arend line going back to Germany

I search my Arend's side on my own & I found alot of info on them.

Found the Arend's in the Lewis, Missouri & Lee, Iowa area. I went back to August Arend & Rickie C. Maier or Myer. Rickey's middle name could be Christina. I also found her name as Frederica C. Arand. August came from Germany & settled down in Lagrange, Lewis, Missouri. August killed himself on Dec 29, 1920. I guess his wife died before him. I found his death certificate saying he was a windowed. It also says his father name is John Arind. August had 5 son's. John, August H, Otto F, George B, & Eddie. Immigration Year: 1875

Quait/Quaite form Indiana

Anderson Turner Quait/Quaite b. 1824 & Mary Ann Pringle b. 1825. Anderson & Mary was born in Virginia. Anderson could born in South Carolina. They had 4 children. Eliza Jane, Hannah, George W., & Jackson Monroe. They was in Posey, Clay, Indiana 1850. Then I found Mary & the children by thier seft in 1860 Bollinger, Missouri & Anderson in 1865 Randolph, Illinois. I guess they got a devorce between 1850 & 1860. I found Anderson in 1880 Coulterville, Randolph, Illinois with a new wife & 6 more children. I think the secound wife name was Sarah Ann Brown. I think Mary Ann & the children went to Pike, Illinois between 1860 & 1870. Eliza Jane & Jackson Monroe are buried at Riverview Cemetery Louisiana, Pike, Missouri. Eliza was married to Joseph Harrison.

Harrison's - Kentucky, Indiana, Illinis

The Harrison's been in Pike area since 1850. Starting with Samuel Harrison b. c1802 PA & Precious Jones b. c1808 KY. First his son William Harrison came in 1850 & married to Emeline Bell. Then Samuel & his family follow along with William. Samuel was in Aug 25 1960 Hadley, Pike, Illinois. Samuel & Precious was married in Dec 1 1824 ,Boone, Kentucky. I guess after the birth of William they went to Indiana. Then they went to Illinois. I coundnt find Samuel & family in 1850 but I found His daughter Nancy Ann Harrison through marriage. She got married to a Andrew S. Edwards in Madison, Illinois. So, I guess they went to Madison then Pike.

The Brown's from Brown Couty, Ohio

We did had a family history book on Vincent C. Brown from Brown County, Ohio. His granddaughter Martha B. Leonard was born in Cincinatti, Hamilton Co., Ohio. Her daughter Mary Jane Thomas was married to Benjamin Franklin Kniffen which his my ggg grandpa. Vincent C. Brown wife was Martha Ann Allen. She's the daughter of Thomas Elliot Allen & Rhoda Sears.

George & Laura Niffen with "16 kids"

As for George Lester Niffen & Laura Amanda Wintjen. They had 16 kids & I think George had a duaghter and a son last name Anderson. George had a twin sister named Martha Louise. I guess she died at birth. Laura wanted 10 girls & 10 boys. She almost did it. George died eleven days before Laura. They died in thier 60s. Grandma told me she just gave up because she didnt want to be alone. That is odd. They died eleven days apart. Five of thier Children died at a young age. Thier 2 boys drowned in the Mississippi River by Louisiana, Missouri. Harold Alvin was 16 & George Allen was 15. All my life I heard that one of them fall off the bridge & the other boy jump after him. But when I got older theres another story. On this cold cold night they went out on a boat to fish but the wind got them & dip them over. Couple of days later they found them in the river holding on each other. Their sister's hubby John Clark, his brother Bennett & the Niffen's cousin James Elden Saunders drowned along with them on December 27, 1957. This is true I found a artcle about them under neath "Daily Register, The Saturday, December 28, 1957" but it dont say no names. It only says, five - yorth beleived drowned in the Mississippi River during hunting expedition. The five started up river Friday to hunt on Ducker Island.

To the Niffen's & Clark's BOYS. "RIP" Dec 27, 1957.
All 4 of them are buried next to each other.

My Grandpa "Harrison"

Roy Alexander Harrison was born Jan 19 1931 & died on November 14, 1994 "Monday night". Age 63. He died from Cancer. Roy was married to Mary Edith Niffen. they had 8 kid's. (4 boy's & 4 girl's) Thier first born died at birth.

His father Hershel Everett Harrison died from heart attack when he was 40 yrs old. (Oct 9, 1937) Hershel and Lola Helen Arend had 11 kids. Some of the kids died at young age. The Harrison's family has red hair. They got the red hair from Lola.

Lola had 3 more children with a William Clifford Hoaglin. William was married to a Dora M. Carpenter.

Dear Ancestor

I got this poem off the net. Its by unknown author. Reason why I posted because Ive been seaching for my 4 generation's in the grave yard.

Dear Ancestor
Your tombstone stands among the rest,
neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiselled out on
polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care;
it is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I'd exist;
you died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
in flesh, in blood, in bone;
our blood contracts and beats a pulse entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
so many years ago spreads out among the ones you left
who would have loved you so.
I wonder how you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
and come to visit you.
