Staats Family

There was 2 sets of Staats in New York. Major Abraham Staats traveled north to settle near Albany, while Jan Pieterszen Van Huysen, settled in Gowanus (now Brooklyn). I guess they prove these 2 was not related. Jan 2 sons adopted the name Staats. They say that Jan did not used the surname.
My line go to Jan Pieterszen van Huysen.

Jan Pieterszen aka van Huysen Born 1605 in Huysem, Denmark
Major Abraham Staets aka Staats born Jan 1620 in Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands

I guess there is a mystery of who is my ancestor Peter Staats b. 1690 of Gowanus father was. He married to a Lammetje Veghte. In Genealogies of New Jersey Families His parents are listed as Pieter Staats b. 1663, and Lysbet Aersen Middagh. Peter and Lammetje residing in Brooklyn. On Geni site they listed Peter parents as Abraham Staats, and Rachel Taylor. Abraham was the brother of Pieter Staats b. 1663. Abraham also had a son name Peter. On the other site I found says that Pieter son Peter b. 1690 has died young, and also had another son name Peter b. 1714. Pieter, and Lysbet has moved to Pennsylvania. So, Abraham Staats could be my ancestor Peter Staats father.

Peter Staats b. 1690 son Jan John moved to New Jersey, and married to a Femmetje Broka. Then their daughter Saartje married to a half-Dutch guy name Jacob Wimmer Sr. Jacob father Johannes came from Germany. Femmetje Broka was also a half-Dutch. Her grandfather Bourgan Broucard "Huguenot" came from France.
