DNA project

I have joined the Edmund Rice Dea. DNA project. All test are welcome. His poss. daughter is Mary widow of Thomas Axtell. Thomas brought some land from Edmund Rice. After Thomas died in his late 20's Rice purchased back the land. Edmund and Thomas children was baptized at St. Peter's Church, Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, England. That right there make you think Mary was his daughter. Mary Axtell got remarried to a John Maynard, which they think this Mary was the daughter of Dr. Comfort Starr.

I do have DNA connection through Elizabeth "Axtell" Scott daughters Rhoda Sisley, and Louisa A. Condit.

Broke a Wall

May 9 2016
I may have broke a brick wall on Joseph W. Waller Wife Sarah Mayham Loy. Her name is not Loy. It is O'Neal. I have found that surname on Sarah's daughter Mary marriage record in Pike, Ill. So, Her full name could be Sarah Maria O'Neal. Found a Maria 1850 in Howard, Mo. and also a Sarah 1860 with Stanley C. O'Neal, and Amanda Chiles. Stanley, and Amanda both born in Kentcky, and got married at Boone, Missouri. There is a Sarah Oneal married to a Thomas Ivey at the age of 15.

3 sets of Harrison's

We all know that there was 3 sets of Harrison's that was in Louisiana, Mo in the early 1900's. And they all are buried at Riverview Cemetery. I for sure the Margaret Harrison's set is not related to my set. We was wondering if Mitchell and Joseph "my set" Harrison's are related. So, Robert offer me DNA kit to try to prove if these Harrison's are related. Well, We did not hit a match what so ever. The only hope is to wait for a another Harrison to take the test.

Robert is related to Mitchell Harrison set. Mitchell's father William came to Pike, Ill before 1850, and Then Joseph's father Samuel came to Pike, Ill before 1855. Samuel wife's name was Precious. William's daugther name was also Precious. Samuel is listed 1830 in Boone, Kentucky. Back in the time they only counting how many people. Samuel had like a boy listed that is the age as William.

3 sets of 4 generation in one family

I have found 3 sets of 4 generation back to back in one family, and that doesn't happen very often back then.

Ruth Tuttle (1750-1831) 81
Elizabeth Axtell (1789-1864) 75
Rhoda Scott (1806-1887) 81
Samuel Arthur Sisley (1829-1885) 56
Arthur Scott Sisley (1848-1921) 73
Minnie Belle Sisley (1879-1911) 32

Ruth, Elizabeth, Rhoda, & Samuel Year gap 79

Elizabeth, Rhoda, Samuel, & Arthur Year gap 57

Rhoda, Samuel, Arthur, & Minnie Year gap 73

Ruth's oldest grandchild was Eliab Axtell (1795-1855) through her 2nd child Eliab Axtell. She had 103 grandchildren, but 89 of them was born while she was alive, and 14 was born after her death. I'm pretty sure she had about or over 120 descendant that survived her counting her great grandchildren.

Elizabeth Axtell had 70 grandchildren but 9 was born after her death. Elizabeth had Rhoda when she was 17 years old.

Minnie had died young, but her daughter Lola Helen "Arend " Harrison have seen her 4 generation.

Made it to 5th generation

This is a cool fact to know. There would've been 6 generation on my Rangel side if Paula lived one more year. Paula 105, Victor 89, Simon 70, Carol 38, Carrie 15, Kenneth born in 1992. But there was 5 generation. Right now we are at 4 generation on both sides the Harrison and the Rangel. Waiting for Kenneth to have a baby.

Victor first born, Simon 2nd born, Carol 4th born, Carrie and Kenneth first born.

Paula had Victor at the age of 16
Victor had Simon at the age of 19
Simon had Carol at the age of 32
Carol had Carrie at the age of 23

Lucky Grandpa Roy Harrison have seen his 4 generation. He died 2 years after his great grandson was born.

Mixed Ancestry

I can't wait to see my DNA results. I want to know if I have Native American in me. My grandma told me that her mom Laura is Native American. I have one line and one poss. line.

I have read that the Ruyle family is mixed with Native American or with African American. My 5th grandfather John Leroy Ruyle 1st wife Polly Bird poss mixed with African American. I am a descendant of John's 2nd wife Ann Gilpin. John And Polly son Alfred had dark complexion, black hair and black eyes. John father Henry came from France, and his mother Catherine poss be mixed with Native American, but her surname is unknown.

They said this is a myth about the Native American and the connection to John Dods. John Dods who came to Jamestown Colony on Susan Constant April 6 1607 with Capt. John Smith poss be the grandfather of Charles Dodson. They got him listed with Jane Eagle Plume, and also with a Jane Dier.

Germans came to USA

Took me about 6 months or a year to find the list of them coming to USA. before 2010

Johann Henrich and Anna Martha "Bax/Box" Arend and their 6 children either went through Netherlands, Belgium, or France to get to England. They possible took a ship around England to land in Glasgow, Scotland. Either way they went to Glasgow to get on a ship called S/S Australia that was going to the United States. They aboard Australia on Apr 6 1872, and landed in New York, United States on Apr 15 1872. It only took 8 or 9 days to cross atlantic ocean. After they landed they maybe traveled elsewhere. John probably took his family to Nebraska before they decided to Settle down in Quincy, Illinois. They have arrive in Quincy on 1874 the same year their oldest got married.

This is base on what I found about the ship and on their Obit's.

I'm a quarter of Mexican in White Town

I was raised in all white town, and school. There was a couple of africa kid's that was raised by white people. There was 2 set's of mixed mexcians where I lived at. but they sometime call us Indians, not mexcian. They think my mom look like a Indian. The other is a full blooded mexcian with 3 kid's, and one child is white. Just like my family. My sisters are darker then me. They did not treat us that bad. I did seen a africa guy in the town where I lived at. That was my first and last time I've seen him. He was with a lady that was in a band called The Chubbies. They lived across from us. In my last year of school some boy call these 2 girl's the n word. He must be color blind, because the other girl was from India.

Over 8 Years, Now Next Level

I've been doing the family tree since Oct 7 2007. I looked up my grandpa Roy in May 2007, and seen grandma Mary had a tree up. So, I decided to research the Harrison's, and put them together in the tree. I even pay someone to search for my grandpa Roy, and his parent's obit. I was living in Ohio at that time. When I came back in 2008 I started searching the Riverview Cemetery. Then I have found Roy's g grandparent's headstone within a year on July 21 2009. Roys ancestors came from Germany, Ireland, Scotland, and England.

It took me a while to find my Rangel's in the census, because they misspelled their name. They was at the County where my grandpa Simon was born at. All that I did is research thier first name's in the county, and there they was. They was immigrants of Mexcio. I do know that his family work on a sugar field when they came to Montana bef 1935 from Texas.

As for both of my grandma's tree. Mary Niffen, and Margaret White tree's was already up.

Now, I want to take genealogy to the next level by taking DNA test with 23andme. I want to know if I have any African Ancestors, or Native American and to see if my mexican cousin's took it. I was going to take it in 2016,  but I had to upgrade my camera.   A poss. long distance cousin offer a DNA kit from Family Tree DNA company. I took the offer, because its once in life time to get it done. Its all payed for. Thank you R. M.

Elizabeth "Axtell" Scott life

She was born a day before my birth day. We are 192 years apart.

My 6th grandmother Elizabeth "Axtell" Scott was born on 13 AUG 1789 in Mercer, Pennsylvania to english descendant's Daniel & Ruth "Tuttle" Axtell. She was the 8th child out of 10 children. Elizabeth was born in the same year, and 4 months after George Washington became the first President. She was 10 years old when George Washington died.

Elizabeth was 16 when she married to a Francis Scott 2 days after her birth day on Aug 15 1805 in Sheakleyville, Mercer, Pennsylvania. He was born on Aug 9 1782 in Montours Runs, Washington, Pennsylvania to scottish & irish parent's James & Rachel "Forbes" Scott. They had 10 children Rhoda, Rachel, Ruth, William Harrison, Sarah, Alvah, Daniel, Margaret, Thomas Axtell, & Louisa A. Daniel did'nt made it to adulthood. Their religion is Presbyterian. Her father Daniel Axtell was the first elders of Fairfield Presbyterian Church in New Vernon. Francis has Served War 1812 as a Private. Elizabeth was 23 years old with 3 young daughters while Francis went off to war. I'm pretty sure church members or family help out. All the children moved to Iowa, & Ohio away from Pennsylvania. Her oldest daughter Rhoda Sisley was the only one that stayed in Pennsylvania. And Margaret Tuttle came back to Pennsylvania before 1900.

Francis Scott died on Feb 2 1846, and buried at Fairfield Cemetery, New Vernon, Mercer, Pennsylvania.

Life Sketch of August Arend

Update from Kimmy G I have found the stuff on online newspapers.

August Herny Arend b. 14 DEC 1878 in Lagrange, Lewis, Missouri son of August H. Arend and Frederica Christine "Ricke" Meyer. He was the 2nd born out of 5 children. I guess August have mat Minnie at Quincy, Ill. He's grandparent's had lived there, and Minnie was living in Quincy at that time. She had been abducted by a married man named Amos Farris in the year of 1894. August and Minnie went to Keokuk, Lee, Iowa and got married on 8 FEB 1897, and lived there every since. They had 5 children together Albert Lindel, Lola Helen, Blanche Frances, Raymond Floyd, and Ethel May. August would've died on 22 Aug 1910 from motorcycle accident. A tire blown out, and he got thrown from the motorcycle head first. Sadly, a year after the accident Minnie had died on 25 OCT 1911 of Illness on a Wednesday morning at the age of 32 years old. Their daughter Ethel had died of pneumonia 2 months after Minnie had passed on. Minnie Belle was the daughter of Arthur Scott Sisley, and Frances A. Swan.

August married to his 2nd wife Mazie E. Ferris daughter of John Ferris, and Nannie Belle Mccluey on 8 FEB 1912 in Lee, Iowa a month after Ethel has passed. Mazie was 18 years old at the time of her marriage. she took in a husband, and 4 young children. They had 2 children Gladys M., and Harold John. August did put a ad for a housekeeper on Dec 1911, and Mazie was the right age for that job. I would like to think Mazie was his housekeeper. Once again a young mother has died. Mazie was only 21 years old when she passed from spinal meningitis on 1 APR 1915 2 week's after giving birth to her only son Harold John who also died 2 months afterwards. She was buried at Oakland cemetery. August was a widow for the 2nd time at the age of 37. He had to buried 2 wives, and 2 children.

August married his 3rd wife Mary Alice Orleans daughter of Frank X. Orleans and Anna Spencer on 14 SEP 1915 in Burlington, Des Moines, Iowa. They did not had children. It was also Mary 3rd marriage. Her first 2 husband poss. died. She had a daughter from her 1st marriage Anna Mrytle Wallace who married to a Dr. C. V. Winsett, which they got a divorce. August file a divorce on 29 Mar 1919 against Mary after being married for 4 years. Just because she was addicted to drinking intoxicating liquors, and have some sort of scandal to him, and his children. They got a divorce on 18 JUN 1919. Mary took her 2nd married name Henrie back after the divorce. I guess they had bad blood between them. It probably hurt the children, because they probably did called this Mary mom. Knowing they knew she was a stepmother. Mary had passed on 29 JAN 1928, and poss. be buried with 4th husband Charles Curtis Eichelberger in Oakland Cemetery.

August married to 4th "the last" wife Ethel R. Wright daughter of Poss. Simeon James Wright and Jennie Elizabeth Spencer on 3 JUL 1922 in Lee, Iowa. Her mother was married to a Jared Gerard Merrick who have died on 9 March 1922. Jennie have died on 27 Dec 1922. Ethel was a executor on her mother's will. Ethel had died 8 months after August death on 25 OCT 1971, and buried in a Cement vault at Oakland Cemetery.

August was member of Yeoman Lodge, and Woodman lodge. He was in World War I. He was a lucky man to survived after a freak accident on a motorcycle. On 19 Apr 1920 He had a crushed knee on his left leg, and he sue his work to get the rest of his money. He went through alot of ups, and downs in his life time. But he lived a very long life at the age of 92. He outlived his 4 brothers. He had lived 15 years after his brother Otto died on 6 JAN 1956. He had died on 13 FEB 1971, and buried in a concrete box at Oakland Cemetery.

August chidren

Son Albert Lindel Arend married to a Elsie M Prince and then went to Terre Haute, Vigo, Indiana. He's listed in 1930 with the Cole's. I think He married to a Mabel Eliabeth Cole and then to a Eva May Newlin. Albert had 5 boy's. Daughter Lola Helen got married to a Hershel Harrison in Quincy She lived in Pike, Missouri and died there in 1980. Lola had 13 children. Blanche Frances, Raymond Floyd, and Gladys M. stayed in Iowa. Blanche Frances married to a Loren Bert Glasgow, and had 4 children. Raymond Floyd married to a Anna Ruth Pence, and had one son. Found a marriage record of Gladys married to a Marion T. Hickenlooper. Lola was the first one to died out of her sibling's who lived to the adulthood.
