Obituary for Mary E. Harrison Foiles

 

Mary Edith Harrison Foiles, 90, of Louisiana, MO, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at her home in Louisiana, MO. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, MO. Burial will be at the Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana, MO. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday, October 2, 2026 at the funeral home.

Mary was born on February 16, 1936 at home in Alexander County, IL to George Lester Niffen and Laura Wintjen Niffen. She grew up in Louisiana, MO and later met Roy Alexander Harrison and they were married on April 10, 1952 at the First Baptist Church in Louisiana, MO. They then moved to Illinois where they had & raised 7 children. After Roy’s retirement they moved back to Pike County, MO until Roy passed away on November 14, 1994. She later married Douglas Carl Foiles in August 2, 1997 in Louisiana, MO and he preceded her in death on April 29, 2009. She then lived the rest of her life with her family, finally settling back in Louisiana where she spent her last years.

She is survived by her sons, Roy A. (Maggie) Harrison of Vandalia, MO, Lester E. (Roxy) Harrison of Louisiana, MO, and David H. Harrison of California; daughters Angela Reddick of Hannibal, MO, Lydia M. (Paul) Weissenfluh of Woodriver, IL, and Kathy D. (John) Tepen of Louisiana, MO; and including her bonus babies, she had a combined number of 125 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She also is survived by a brother James Niffen of Pittsfield, IL, and her sisters Laura Goree of Bowling Green, MO, Brenda Culp of Columbia, MO, and Shirley Robinson of Guatemala; and numerous other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lester & Laura Niffen, husband Roy Harrison Nov. 14, 1994, husband Doug Foiles Apr. 29, 2009, a daughter Debra Besaw Aug. 6, 2025, and 11 siblings Gene, Wanda, Sarah, Glenda, Bubby, Cookie, Darlene, Robert, Bill, Linda, and Joyce.

Mary had the most beautiful smile and a soul to match. She loved the Lord and her family more than life itself. Her love, kindness, and acceptance of all people made her one of a kind. She gave her last to those she loved and those in need with a smile on her face. Mary read her Bible, prayed, and worshipped the Lord in song every day. At Christmas & Easter every year, she would gather her children & grandchildren for a celebration that always began with a prayer and included a delicious meal followed by gifts, Christmas stockings, or Easter baskets for all. She was a stay-at-home Mom, a good cook, and raised her children in church. She loved singing those old gospel hymns and even enjoyed writing her own songs & poetry. She was an avid reader of novels and could complete 20 novels every couple of weeks. She lived by God’s will and has been a Sunday School teacher, taught Bible School, and even a Cub Scout leader. But the things she loved the most was God and her family. She was a wonderful mother, wife, sister, aunt, friend, and was an amazing grandmother! All who knew her loved her. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Johnson, Jason Craig, Nikki Jones, Gavin Gilbert, Ian Kramer, Logan Webster, Jessie Weissenfluh, and Triston Beavers.

Emma Niessner was born on 12 Mar 1873 in Zechitz, Römerstadt, Moravia, Austria, as the legitimate child of Ferdinand Niessner and Franciska, née Veronika Haas, herself the legitimate daughter of Florian Haas. Her siblings comprised Ferdinand (1871), Otto (1875), Hermann (1877-1878), Bertha (1881), and Aloisia Niessner (1884-1887), all born into a Catholic family. Otto later moved to Liesing, Vienna, Austria, and married Anna Zimmermann on 21 May 1904, with whom he had sons Stefan Josef and Franz Leopold Niessner. Emma gave birth to an illegitimate son, Rudolf, on 26 November 1900, who was baptized on 1 December 1900, in Girsig, Römerstadt, Moravia, Austria. The Niessner family hails from the Moravian-Silesian Region, Czechia. Zechitz is now Stránské, Rýmařov, Moravian-Silesian, Czech Republic

Emma has came to the states on 12 Aug 1903 to Ellis Island, New York City, New York to joined Vincent Froemel. Vincent came to America in 14 Aug 1893 and was joined by his mother and siblings on 1901 eight years later. After ten years of being apart, Vincent sent for Emma and her son, born out of wedlock, and they married on 22 Sep 1903 in Broken Bow, Custer, Nebraska and went on to have eight more children together name Herman Carl 1904-1989, Otto John 1905-1995, Frank Anthony 1907-1980, Vincent Paul 1909-1976, Emma Lorraine 1911-1990, Frances Caroline 1914-1988, Irene Helen 1914-1994, and Louis Walter 1917-1993. Vincent has adopted her son Rudolph Jessie Froemel. After thier 3 sons was born in Broken Bow, Custer, Nebraska, they have moved to Hayward, Sawyer, Wisconsin. That is where Emma and Vincent are both buried at in Greenwood Cemetery.

I believe he has more unknown children out there. Back in 2023 I have confirmed that he is the bio father of my children father thru his daughter. Now also thru a son in 2026. 

Ernest father is Rudolph Jessie Froemel "Niessner" His father is Completely Unknown. He is from Zechitz, Römerstadt, Moravia, Austria which it is now Stránské, Rýmařov, Moravian-Silesian, Czech Republic. Paternal Haplogroup is R-Y2905 thru grandson Steven and great grandson Blake.
